     Mac Hornecker had over 40 years of experience as a professional sculptor.  He received a
BFA in Sculpture in 1968 from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MFA in Sculpture
from the University of Oklahoma in 1970. He received his first commission from the
Oklahoma City Arts Council in 1971 for a 12 ton cast concrete sculpture.
Since that time he has received major commissions for large exterior and interior sculptures. 
In 1971 he won a national competition for a large exterior sculpture called "Prairie Bluff"
for the  South Dakota Memorial Art Center in Brookings, SD.

     During the last 40 years Mr. Hornecker has participated in over 40 juried and
invitational shows. He has won awards in several juried shows including most
recently the Delta Award from the Arkansas Art Center's Delta Show in 2007. 
Also in this time period he has had over 35 Solo Shows, and  received grants from
the IA Arts Council/National Endowment/ For The Arts.   He has served on the
advisory board for the Iowa Arts Council and through the years
has been a guest artist at many colleges and universities in the Midwest.Des Moines, Iowa
